"When Religious Beliefs Lack Faith, We Distance Ourselves from God’s Best"

"God Brings All Things to Us"
After the death of my sister in March 2019, I came to an important realization: believing in God is vastly different from having faith in Him, and that difference is transformative.
Belief in God is often the starting point—a prerequisite—but without faith, it can become rigid and lack its full potential. Belief tends to focus on the literal teachings of the Bible, while faith embraces the understanding that God works all things for our good and the good of others. Faith relies on His limitless possibilities, while belief alone can confine us to judgment and intolerance.
Faith allows us to live in grace, mercy, compassion, and humanity. It overrides rigid beliefs when those beliefs become too small or boxed in for God’s boundless love.

Reflections on Faith and LoveA recent conversation with a friend brought clarity to some truths about how Jesus exemplified love:
  1. Jesus loved us in all our flaws. He didn’t merely tolerate us; He adored us despite our imperfections.
  2. Jesus never shunned sinners. He didn’t separate Himself out of fear of being tainted or to demonstrate disapproval. Instead, He met people where they were with love and compassion.
  3. We are called to love above all. Our purpose is to care for one another, not to harm or condemn.
  4. God does not force compliance. He extends grace and free will, allowing us to choose our path without coercion.

The Dangers of Rigid BeliefsWhen we focus too much on rigid beliefs, we risk becoming judgmental and intolerant. This creates a false sense of superiority, which can lead to hidden struggles like anxiety, depression, unhappiness, and sleepless nights.
On a deeper level, those who hold others to harsh standards are often battling the same self-judgment. When our beliefs chip away at our faith, we distance ourselves from both God’s calling and a meaningful relationship with Him and His people.
If God held us to the same inflexible standards we often impose on others, none of us would stand a chance. But faith reminds us that God’s grace is sufficient, His love is unconditional, and His calling is for us to love—not judge.

Let us strive to walk in faith, extending grace and love to ourselves and others, and trusting in God’s ability to bring all things together for good.
With love,

Hi, I’m Frankie. I’ve loved writing since I was a child, not just the stories, but the way words can carry emotion, truth, and understanding. I’m curious about people, life, and the deeper meaning beneath the surface. This blog is where I reflect, create, and try to capture what it means to be fully human. Thanks for being here. Let’s grow together.
