#MyEarlyMorningThoughts: Being Kind to Ourselves and Overflow

I believe the greatest act of kindness is being kind to ourselves. When we are kind to ourselves others reap the benefit of the overflow. This happens because being kind to ourselves requires the following:
  • monitoring our thoughts about ourselves
  • focusing on the positive
  • being intentional with our time
  • taking time for us
  • forming healthy relationships and dismissing negative ones
  • personal growth
When we begin to practice these simple habits and pour goodness into ourselves, we naturally being to monitor how we treat others as well.  For example, if you are careful to take time to yourself or not to speak or think negative things over yourself, you are less likely to suggest someone over work themselves or say negative things to them. When we focus on being positive, it forces us to interact with positive people and environments. I've learned that if you really want to see where your attitude, beliefs, and personality lies, take a look at the people you choose to connect with daily, your friends, and coworkers you gravitate toward. This is typically called "clicks" of people, but honestly its just people that hold a similar belief system about certain things or carry the same attributes. Those beliefs can be apparent or underlying. One of the first steps of taking control over your life is to take control over how you treat yourself, which requires allot of reflecting and self-evaluation. Our lives then begin to become more intentional, we monitor our thought-life, relationships, encounters, and most importantly the things we allow to happen to us. We form our own visions, purpose, and begin to take action to reach them.

Hi, I’m Frankie. I’ve loved writing since I was a child, not just the stories, but the way words can carry emotion, truth, and understanding. I’m curious about people, life, and the deeper meaning beneath the surface. This blog is where I reflect, create, and try to capture what it means to be fully human. Thanks for being here. Let’s grow together.
