Hope Deferred and Purpose Fulfilled: Aligning Passion with God’s Plan
"Hope deferred makes the heart sick, but when dreams come true, there is life and joy." – Proverbs 13:12 When we engage in our passion and it leads us to our calling, we begin to operate in our purpose. While we are put on this earth to accomplish many things and affect many lives, something magical and unexplainable happens when our calling and passion collide. Our hearts are delighted. When we partner with God, we cannot fail. "Commit your work to the Lord, and then your plans will succeed." – Proverbs 16:3 It is important to always consult with God on our plans if we truly want to see His work in them. Too often, we make decisions without prayer or act out of selfish motives, only to see those plans crumble or wish we had waited to receive a word from Him. God wants us to reap His blessings, but often those blessings come in specific timing. Sometimes, that timing is determined by our willingness to submit all aspects of our lives to Him and stop trying to hold certain parts back. "God has made everything beautiful for its own time. He has planted eternity in the human heart, but even so, people cannot see the whole scope of God’s work from beginning to end. So I concluded there is nothing better for people than to be happy and to enjoy themselves as long as they can." – Ecclesiastes 3:11-12 God’s timing is perfect, even when it doesn’t align with our own. By consulting Him and aligning our plans with His purpose, we can experience the fullness of joy and fulfillment He has intended for us. Let us be patient, trust His process, and commit to the journey He has set before us. In doing so, we will see the beauty and purpose in every season of our lives. God Makes a Way Through Our Passions "God makes a way for us to see and use our passions in creative ways if we are willing to open our minds to it." While God’s Word and His direction for our lives never change, He allows for variation and flexibility. This is one of the reasons we can reflect on our lives to discover our true passions. For instance, my father worked as a manager for a parts department at Daily Equipment. When he brought papers home, I would often see beautiful images he had drawn on the corners and typed words of the document. His talent was innate. He was an artist and a mechanic. We bring talents combined ideas through the opportunity its talent. God will place of provide journey and insight. 2 Peter: Opening themes to embolden our cause and joy!
