God Makes a Way Through Our Passions
"God makes a way for us to see and use our passions in creative ways if we are willing to open our minds to it." While God’s Word and His direction for our lives never change, He allows for variation and flexibility. This is one of the reasons we can reflect on our lives to discover our true passions. For instance, my father worked as a manager for a parts department at Daily Equipment. When he brought papers home, I would often see beautiful images he had drawn on the corners and sometimes right over the typed words of the document. His talent was innate. He was an artist who could see something when there was nothing and bring that vision to life. He did it when he was a mechanic, around the house when he fixed things, cooked dinner, and when he built speaker boxes and a second-row seat for his truck for me and my siblings. Much like this, God will allow us to see and use our talents in a way that, when we reflect, we can see our calling in life. I can remember in my childhood, my mother would tell me that I could write a children’s book. She was planting a seed because she saw a vision through my talents. God will also place people and opportunities in our path to help us discover and clearly see His purpose for our life. We must be faithful in our trust, willing to see what is in front of us, and fearless in our efforts. We must not allow our God-given abilities to go to waste. Teaching About Salt and Light: Matthew 5:13-16 "You are the salt of the earth. But what good is salt if it has lost its flavor? Can you make it salty again? It will be thrown out and trampled underfoot as worthless. You are the light of the world—like a city on a hilltop that cannot be hidden. No one lights a lamp and then puts it under a basket. Instead, a lamp is placed on a stand, where it gives light to everyone in the house. In the same way, let your good deeds shine out for all to see, so that everyone will praise your heavenly Father." God has created each of us with a purpose, and when we tap into that calling, it allows us to bring light into the world. Trust Him with your passions and allow Him to guide you to where you are meant to be.
