Faithful, Not Disgruntled: Trusting God's Plan
"Stop falling apart every time things don’t go your way!" – Kimberly Jones Pothier We are children of God, and He uses everything in our lives to work in our favor. He expects us to praise Him amid struggles, opposition, and even during seasons of pruning. However, it’s easy to fall into the trap of being both faithful and disgruntled, attempting to follow Him while harboring resentment or frustration when things don’t go as we expect. But faith and disgruntlement cannot coexist. When we truly trust God’s plan, we let go of the need to control every outcome and begin to respond to life in ways that please Him. As believers, we must remember that His plans for us often extend beyond our understanding and, at times, may even disregard our immediate feelings as He prepares us for greater things. Society conditions us to align our feelings and expectations with what is glorified in the world, but God calls us to a higher standard. While worldly encouragement and success are often fleeting, Godly approval is eternal and far more rewarding. When things don’t go our way, it’s not a license to walk around angry, envious, or disappointed. Instead, it’s an opportunity to exercise faith and hold firmly to the promises God has for us. How to Shift from Disgruntled to Faithful
God’s promises are steadfast, and His plans for us are always for good, even when we can’t immediately see the outcome. Let us trust Him fully, knowing that He is working everything for our growth and His glory.
