Not all of our Goliaths look the same. For me, my Goliath often involves stepping out on faith and trusting that I have the knowledge and skill set to complete the task. Lately, I’ve faced setbacks in maintaining peace, feeling confident enough to work toward my dreams, engaging in pastimes, and pulling myself away from distractions. But I’m determined to take charge! Here are a few ways I’m doing just that: 1. Early Morning IntentionI’ve started scheduling time to wake up early and set an intention for the day. Whether it’s a short meditation, prayer, exercise, or even just savoring a cup of coffee, the goal is to start the day with purpose. Personally, I love Deepak Chopra’s 10-minute guided meditations—they’ve been a game-changer for me. 2. Change Your ThoughtsNegative thoughts? Stop them in their tracks! I’ll admit, I’ve been guilty of letting negative scenarios play out in my mind—imaginary arguments, correcting someone on politics or religion, expecting to nag my kids about cleaning up, or even doubting myself and my work. Recently, I’ve started a new habit: the moment I catch myself doing this, I say “Stop it!” and immediately replace the thought with something positive. Sometimes I’ll even turn up a good song to shift my mood. Those negative thoughts can get us into a world of trouble if we let them run wild, so it’s crucial to correct them before they spiral. 3. Positivity Before BedBefore bed, I’ve developed a habit of listening to something positive. It’s often about how our thoughts create our reality or broader perspectives on humanity. Ending the day with uplifting content helps me sleep with a peaceful mindset and wake up refreshed. Some might think these aren’t Goliaths—but I beg to differ. Many of us struggle to take even the simplest actions that can make a world of difference in our daily routines. I pray that this year brings you intentionality and blessings, filled with the pursuit of human alchemy and peace. Be well, Frankie Alisha
